The Certificate in Health, Nutrition and First Aid for Nannies is a comprehensive programme designed to prepare learners with the practical knowledge, caregiving skills, and professional competencies required to support children and elderly individuals in home and community settings.
Modern nannies and caregivers are increasingly expected to provide holistic care that includes child health support, nutrition management, hygiene practices, emergency first aid, emotional wellbeing, and basic elderly care assistance. This course equips learners with essential caregiving techniques to maintain safe, healthy, nurturing, and supportive environments for both children and older adults.
The programme combines theoretical understanding with practical caregiving skills, enabling learners to respond confidently to everyday care needs, health concerns, emergencies, and household safety responsibilities.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this programme, learners will be able to demonstrate understanding of child growth, health, and wellbeing, prepare balanced and nutritious meals for children and elderly individuals, and maintain hygienic and safe caregiving environments. They will be equipped to apply infection prevention and health protection measures, perform essential paediatric and basic elderly first aid procedures, and respond appropriately to common emergencies and accidents. Learners will also be able to support emotional wellbeing and positive caregiving relationships, communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and family members, and recognise safeguarding responsibilities and ethical caregiving standards. Additionally, they will provide basic elderly care support and mobility assistance, identify common age-related health complications and appropriate responses, and promote dignity, independence, and respectful care practices.
